Here are some of the ways to get and stay organized that I have come up with over the years. Organize extra foodstuffs by type, with the most current expiration date in the most accessible position. Put seldom used things in those hard to reach places. Store like things together. I carried this idea to our garage.

With the holidays around the corner, there are plenty of grocery items that you may need in the next few months. I stock up on food when it is on sale and put it in our freezer (if needed) or just make sure that I am rotating the cupboard so food that expires sooner is in the front.
